Rare Monk - Happy Haunting

| Kerri
If you were to die before me
I hope you haunt me forever
And if I were to die before you
Yeah I'm gonna haunt you forever, with clever puns, yeah

Pacific NW peeps coming at you with a new album and a sound that is so familiar, yet distinct. Clever intertwining guitars and vocal harmonies, with a good measure of pop sensibility and a dash of indie cynicism. If you like this, you should definitely check out the rest of A Future, and their previous album Death By Proxy (it feels a little harder edged than this one, but in a good way).

QOTSA - The Way You Used To Do

| Keith
Is love mental disease or lucky fever dream?
Fine with either
Gave birth to monsters who will terrorize normalcy, yeah
They'll terrorize

QOTSA's last album, 2013's Like Clockwork, is a masterpiece and a classic. So, you might expect, I'm excited to get some new music from them. They've got a couple of singles out in advance of the release of Villians and they're solid. Use those ears to take in today's Most Important, "The Way You Used To Do" and then use your eyes to oggle that sweet album art.

Professor Murder - Dutch Hex

| Keith
Do they owe us a living?
Of course they do. Of course they do.
Do they owe us a living?
Of course they fucking do.

Almost a year ago we featured "Free Stress Test" by Professor Murder, a groovy throwback to the wild and wonderful club music of the 80's. They don't have a ton of music but I love almost everything heard from them so wanted to do another. This time we've got the remarkable "Dutch Hex".

Cherry Glazerr - Trash People

| Keith
My carpet smells like beer forever, forever
If all the people dressed like sheeple
There would be no color, no color
Those are my people
There would be no color, no color
Those are my people

My first thought upon hearing Cherry Glazerr, was something along the lines of "damn, this reminds me of The Donnas." That's a very good thing. It'd been awhile since I'd listened to The Donnas, but they're a lot of fun. Turns out Cherry Glazerr may have less in common with The Donnas than they do with acts like Honeyblood, Diet Cig and La Sera, but, hey, that's cool too. Their latest album, Apocalipstick, is fantastic and much more diverse than I'd originally expected with quite a few stand outs.

The Horrors - Machine

| Keith
Your smile is nothing to live for
But read out your lines
And bring the fantasy to life
You taste like a ghost
A cold simulation
So close to the truth
A costume jewel, an off-white lie

Once upon a time, at SXSW, I saw a big haired goth-punk-industrial outfit called The Horrors and loved their crazy show. They've got two solid singles out now and an album coming soon. The first of these, "Machine", is today's Most Important, a sharp track with an industrial feel, and the second, "Something To Remember Me By" is a BONUS TRACK that's very pretty.

RIYL: Shout Out Louds, The Rapture, Depeche Mode, Klaxons
