When I first heard "#1 Song" by Wesley Fuller, I asked myself, "What is this? A new New Pornographers song?" Let's keep the Americana vibe going, shall we? Brian Fallon has one of my favorite voices and I'm so happy he's keeping things going with his solo work. His new single "Forget Me Not" could have been pulled off just about any Gaslight Anthem album and it's a terrific track for an American holiday. The new album is out early next year and he's got a tour going to support it, so you know I'll be catching him in Austin.

Philly rocker Dave Hause, formerly of The Loved Ones, was one of the opening acts for Beach Slang the other night. Sadly, we only caught a couple songs, but what we did catch was great. He's got a straight-forward punk-by-way-of-Americana sound that is best heard live, which leaves me with regrets. Oh well, hopefully, he'll be back around soon.

One of our favorite tracks from 2016 was Sjowgren's "Seventeen" and I think I speak for Kerri as well when I say we've been eagerly awaiting some more from them. Well, hooray! We've got some more Sjowgren and its sounding super. The latest of several fantastic new tracks is "High Beam", an upbeat tune that's perfect for a crisp, sunny, Sunday afternoon.

Tonight is the night! We're going to see Cloud Nothings and Japandroids! They're two of my favorite bands and I couldn't be more stoked. I thought of cueing up a song of one of their latest albums, as they're both stellar, but couldn't decide. Instead, here's one of the Wavves / Cloud Nothings collab, No Life for Me, which is also stellar.
