I discovered Scottish duo Honeyblood a few years back at SXSW and they've been on my radar and in my heavy rotation ever since. They've got a great sound that swings between upbeat rock and mellow melodic. When "Killer Bangs" came up the other night (off of one of my many random playlists, I've added them to a few) I thought about having to travel without Kerri and, well, I guess it's a bit cheesy, but about how we go on until it's time to come home and making something with someone special.

"Designer Feelings" by Tennessee-based Pujol (who's not, I don't think, to be confused with famous Dominican baseball players with similar names) is a fun, high-energy and lo-fi romp about, you guessed it, feelings. It's a good cut.

This weekend I spent some time wandering around Sydney, mostly looking for street art, but I also came across (or was taken to) some great bars, breweries, and restaurants. One of these was a sweet burger joint, Mary's, over in Newtown. The burgers were terrific, but the real highlight for me was the 90's hip-hop and rock. Now, I'm not a huge 90's music fan, but it wasn't all bad. In fact, I got quite a kick out of the Silverchair they were blasting. I hadn't heard them in ages, but I suppose, as they're an Aussie band, they're much more common here. In any case, I'm paying it forward and turning that nostalgic moment into a Most Important Song. Enjoy.

Fairly new Boston indie garage rockers, with surfer-sounding guitars, Tipling Rock have broken through to some major attention with this single, released earlier this summer and still gaining popularity. Just listening to it makes me think I need to check my toes for sand.
