Chvrches - Get Out

| Kerri

OMG new Chvrches!!! The Wombats & this I've been meaning to post for a couple of weeks (thankfully Keith is filling in some of my gaps). Are you as excited as I am for another full album from these Glaswegians  (Love Is Dead, later this year)?? I feel so lucky that I've seen Lauren & the boys live twice, and from up close, as they reside in the very heart of my musical sweet spot, and I'm starting to get away from that urge to rush the stage... well, because my BF would rather hang in the back of the crowd but anyway we ARE getting older, and Chvrches crowds are getting much larger.

St. Vincent - Los Angeles

| Kerri

I've been such a TMIS slacker this year. Sorry friends! I've been too busy to even keep track of what Keith was posting until this week. Phew! Glad he's keeping us in good taste. As for me, I'm not, historically, a huge St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark) fan but this track has got under my skin in a really good way. Maybe it's thanks to Jack Antonoff producing this album, and probably also her recent work with David Byrne and Chemical Bros. Anyhoo, loving this Most Important song and hmmmm, she's got two nights at the awesome ACL Live venue here in Austin next week...

R.E.M. & Natalie Merchant - Photograph

| Keith
I found this photograph,
Underneath the broken picture glass.
Tender face of black and white,
Beautiful, a haunting sight.
Looked into an angel's smile,
Captivated all the while.
From the hair and clothes she wore,
I'd place her in between the wars.

How about a little throwback to get us back into the swing of things. R.E.M.'s Automatic for the People, while not my favorite, I prefer their older stuff, it is a terrific album and it's recently been re-released for its 25th anniversary. As part of that release, "Photograph", a song that, as far as I know, is not on the album, showed up in my release radar and, wow, I'm amazed at how well it holds up.
