This new track from Sydney-based indie outfit DMA's might be a bit (what I like to call) Dawson's Creek, but I've been really enjoying it. I'll leave it up to you to figure out what I mean by that, so have a listen and enjoy a pleasant start to your Monday.

Mattiel is a bluesy rocker from Atlanta, Georgia who's self-titled first LP hit a few weeks back. It's got kind of a straight-forward down-home American feel to it and, while it's not ground-breaking, has a few stand-out tracks, today's Most Important, "Count Your Blessings" being my favorite of the bunch.

DCR calling their style "summery south coast indie" makes me smile because they're referring to the English coast which is rarely particularly summery IMO.

Continuing the week with another rocking female groove, I present to you Canadian/German/British Alice Merton (if you haven't already heard her a dozen times on your alt station). A sudden darling on my local station, I keep hearing bits of this track when I'm flipping the dial and finally tracked down who/what it was this morning. Hitting the ground running with a solid label (Mom + Pop) behind her, her first EP (which this song is part of but which is not on Spotify) came out in July and won an award in Germany already.
