Kiriyama Family - Innocence

| Keith

I was so glad to catch Kiriyama Family's full set. We walked in at the tail end of one of their shows and I was pulled in by their sophisticated-yet-groovy 80's sound, so made a plan to catch them the next day. It was a great plan. They're terrific and I'm hoping they'll make their way stateside soon. SXSW? They seem like they'd be a perfect fit.

Gurr - #1985

| Keith

I think my favorite Airwaves act, aside from Pinegrove, whom I was already very familiar with, was Berlin garage rockers, Gurr. They reminded me a lot of some of my favorite indie rock outfits namely, Cayetana and Diet Cig. Their live show was lit and if they come to Austin you know I'll be there.

Valdimar - Yfir Borgina

| Keith

Here we go, the first in a series of make up posts for the week(ish) we spent in Iceland. We enjoyed quite a bit of music while there, and we wanted to retroactively share some of the highlights with y'all. First up? The wonderful Valdimar, a mellow, polished indie rock outfit we saw several times and would have gladly caught again.

CeaseTone - Full Circle

| Keith

Another Airwaves act I'm interested in is CeaseTone, a classical music influenced indie band who reminds me a whole lot of The Dear Hunter, mixing strings, electronic elements, and beautiful vocals to a very pleasant result.

RIYL: The Dear Hunter, City and Colour, Minus The Bear, Sin Fang

Lime Cordiale - Hanging Upside Down

| Keith

Sydney-based Lime Cordiale has the perfect name. Their music is light, bubbly, with a hint of flavor and perfect for a sunny afternoon. Oh, and it's definitely P-13. They've got a pleasant new debut album out just a few weeks back, but today's Most Important is from their 2015 EP.

RIYL: Atlas Genius, Saint Motel, Day Wave, The Mowgli's
